In early 1996 God gave the charge to Pastor Sherman Henderson to bring a revival to the
body of Christ. His charge bring a revival to the land. On July 14th 1996 Revival in the
Land Missionary Church held its first service with a modest attendance of 8 people. $
joined our ministry that day and we have been growing every since. We have outgrown 2
locations and God is still adding to the ministry daily. At the launch of this site we have
103 members with about 60 being in regular attendance. We don't judge by quantity we
judge by quality. We are Chicago's best kept secret!

In March of 1999 God gave us the directive to drop the Missionary Baptist from our title
because our purpose is to minister to the entire body of Christ across denominational
lines. Soon after we experienced an outpouring of the spirit of God that we are still in awe
of today. In January of 2000 we moved to our present location at 1260 w. 103rd street.

Revival in the Land Christian Center is a Missionary Baptist ministry that has been
charged by God to minister to the entire body of Christ across denominational lines. We
believe in and operate in all the gifts of the spirit as God sees fit. We have a charge to
prepare people for eternity while equipping them for the present. We are a progressive
church that believes in uplifting the lost and suffering. We are hard at work perfecting the
body to represent the glory of Jesus Christ.
